Just thought I would show you the current returns for the 10 years of boxes and envelopes project. So When I receive a submission I will send out a certificate of participation, post card and some stickers. So to those lovelies who have already participated expect an envelope from me as your returns have been put in the post and are on their way. I am also keeping a register of everyone who has participated so that when the time comes to exhibit the work etc, I can let you all know and pass on documentation.

10 Years of Boxes and Envelopes - a collective and continual time capsule project

Within a box, envelope or other container place and item or items that you wish to include in your personal time capsule. This may come in the form of a letter, drawing, photo or object. You may wish to include something that is significant or symbolic of who you are at this time, or the way you perceive the world around you. What you place in your time capsule is completely up to you (please do not include any organic material as customs may confiscate them).

- Seal your vessel
- Label the outside of your container with the project tittle, your name (or alias), and the date it was sealed

Each capsule will remain sealed until the project concludes on September 1st 2019. On the day the Grand Opening will occur (location and times to be decided at a later date). At the grand opening visitors will be invited to open the capsules, the contents will be documented and exhibited (locally and on-line). All participants will receive an official certificate of participation, project ticker and post card once your capsule has been received. Please feel free to design and decorate your capsule as you please, upon being received they will be photographed and documented progressively at

The following works were received in response to a mail-art project I called in 2006. Has the Internet Killed the Postman, asked three questions;

When is mail art and when is it just mail?
Has the Internet killed the postman?
Contributor freedom: a license to excel or suck?

20 artists from 10 countries sent works either by post or e-mail, which in itself dismissed the notion that mail art has died.

Due to an unforeseen absence from the world as I knew it, the planned exhibition and documentation of this project never occurred in 2006. The exhibition, and documentation has now (very belatedly) been completed and catalogs sent to all participants.

I would like to thank all participants for their thoughts and creativity.

So I started this blog to document the mail art projects I either participated in, or organised as well as various mail-art/ fluxus related stuff. Shortly after setting this up and making the commitment to actively enter the bloggosphere I decided to embark on an extended period of world adventuring, where by I quit my life as I knew it, moved to South Korea and became a completely different person for a few years. As such I did for a time abandon the eternal network, I stopped responding to calls, did not finish projects and never made any entries on this blog... but now I am back, and am in the process of tying up loose ends and unraveling new mischief. Stay tuned to see what (if anything) occurs.
